As a collegiate and professional baseball player, Jeff spent several years competing and learning to succeed. Now, that same drive and determination carries over from the baseball field to the financial world.
Jeff is a University of Tennessee graduate and started as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in 2000, later opening an independent practice in 2006. Jeff is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional.
For Jeff, family is everything. He and his wife, Reece, spend most of their free time with their two children, Avery and Jacob. It’s that same passion that allows Jeff to understand the importance of planning for your family’s future. Over his many years in the industry, he’s seen highs and lows within the financial world, but his number one priority has remained the same: to make life easier for his clients.
Faith and family have greatly shaped Scott into the man and the financial professional he is today. The Knoxville native spent his late teens and early 20’s working at his father’s car dealership. During that time, he decided to pursue a career in finance, earning a degree from the University of Tennessee.
He started with Edward Jones in 1999 and later left to pursue his own dream of independent practice in 2006. Scott says that while the markets have changed dramatically over the last decade, one thing remains the same— his commitment to giving families peace of mind and taking the stress away from handling their finances.
Scott’s family life is often spent outdoors with his wife, Andrea, and their two children, Carson and Emery. He also devotes much of his time to ministries within his church as well as helping the basketball teams at Berean Christian School, where his children attend classes.
Service has always been a part of Jeff’s life, whether it’s helping to meet the financial and spiritual needs of the people within his community of Campbell County or serving as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force.
He joined the military during his time at the University of Tennessee, receiving a finance degree, and later a master’s degree. From there, Jeff became an adviser at Edward Jones and later opened an independent practice in 2006.
Jeff says his faith makes him who he is today and is a large part of what makes his practice so special. For he and Kendra, his wife of 25 years, this faith stretches far beyond the walls of First Presbyterian in LaFollette and into the relationships he builds with each client. That type of genuine care and concern comes from a calling and not just a career.
