We love having Members visit us at our branches, but we are also committed to reaching beyond the branch and being part of the communities we serve. Giving back includes helping local schools, adopting parks, supporting local events and partnering with local organizations and causes. Keep up with us on social media to see what all we are doing in the community!
FREE Classic Cinema Matinee
In celebration of our 85th Anniversary, we presented Classic Cinema Matinee, a free filshowed classic films like "It Happened One Night," "Dracula," "Cleopatra" and "It's a Wonder Life".
Habitat for Humanity
People helping people is the core mission of the Credit Union. Alongside eight local credit unions, we are coming together as part of the Credit Unions Care movement to build a Habitat for Humanity home in Knoxville, TN. Over the course of six weeks, we build a house from the ground up with all the finishing details. See us in action below!
Mission of Hope
Every year around Christmas, the Credit Union partners with Mission of Hope to bring holiday cheer to the children of Appalachia. Branch locations take donations of new toys, clothes, personal hygiene items and non-perishable food items that are then donated to Mission of Hope! We fill the large display window at our Downtown Knoxville location with all the donated items. You can check out the window on the corner of Wall Avenue and Gay Street in late November through early December to see all the donations received! This is definitely one of our largest community service events we participate in annually.
Staff takes time to volunteer at events like Special Olympics Track and Field, Bowling, Volleyball and more, throughout the year. The Credit Union serves the East Tennessee community and volunteers with multiple Special Olympics groups. We help facilitate events, work concessions and a variety of other tasks as needed. It is always so rewarding and our staff loves dedicating their time to help such an awesome cause.
Safe Kids Days at the Smokies
Every year, we partner with the Smokies and participate in Safe Kids Days, which is all about celebrating the kids. Each child receives a free lunch, learns about making good choices and then gets to enjoy a Smokies baseball game! We love being part of making the day extra special for all the students by packing the lunch, helping with relays and much more. We always look forward to Safe Kids Day!
The annual Fido Fest, at the Pinnacle in Turkey Creek, is one of the Credit Union’s favorite community events. Partnering with Young Williams Animal Center and other retailers, we spend the day celebrating our four-legged friends. Fido Fest has a wide array of dog-related activities including pet caricature artists, face painting, puppy splash zones, food trucks and more. Artists from the community participate in the Fido Fest chalk art competition showcasing their furry friends. It’s a fun-filled event spent with our pets!
