At Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, we are always searching for ways to improve your account security. We recognize keeping account information secure is extremely important for our Members, and we make this a priority. Keeping this in mind, the Credit Union offers various ways to protect your account information.
Fraud Text Alerts*
Two-Way Fraud Text Alerts is an additional communication tool for our Fraud department to reach you if fraudulent activity is detected on your account.
When opening a new account, you will receive an enrollment text message. Do NOT be alarmed when receiving the text; it is an official text from the Credit Union. Enrollment is optional; however, this is an additional security feature to keep you informed and safeguard your account. If you already have an account, you can call us at (865) 544-5400 to enroll.
If the Credit Union suspects fraudulent activity on your account and you are enrolled in this program, you will receive a text from us asking if the transaction in question is valid or not. If you did not make the transaction, text us back, letting us know, and we'll take care of it!
Member security is a top priority at Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. The Fraud Text Alerts program will help keep your account and financial information safe. Please contact the Credit Union if you have any questions.

Helpful Tips
The following are some tips to help you stay safe and keep your information secure, especially while using your phone, computer, or tablet for mobile banking.
-
Limit your behavior on public Wi-Fi. Public Wi-Fi is any Wi-Fi shared with someone other than yourself and members of your household; this would include a guest account, restaurant or hotel Wi-Fi, in-flight, and many other forms of public Wi-Fi. Other users on public Wi-Fi can potentially discover your data. This means you need to use extra caution when connecting to public Wi-Fi. Don't do anything on your browser you wouldn't do if a stranger were sitting next to you staring at your screen. Also, avoid conducting any transactions while on public Wi-Fi.
-
Another way to stay secure is to use your mobile hotspot. You can use your mobile hotspot on your phone to connect your computer or tablet. Now that many cellular carriers are moving to unlimited data, you can freely use your data to help you stay secure.
-
Be cautious when shopping online. Only buy from secure sites, and make sure you are not making online purchases over public Wi-Fi networks. Also, never save your debit card number on a website.
-
Check your credit report and your account regularly for potentially fraudulent activity.
-
Inspect gas pumps and ATMs for skimming devices. If there is anything unusual about a gas pump or ATM, do not insert your card, and alert someone if possible.
The Credit Union is constantly striving to provide simple ways for Members to keep account and financial information secure at all times. As technology continues to change, we have committed to adapting and providing various options for the Membership! Member security is, and always will be, a top priority for Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union!
